On Thursday, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record and became the quickest batsman to achieve 19,000 international runs. The Indian skipper reached the milestone in 399 innings, while Sachin did it in 432 over the course of his career. When the Indian skipper reached 11 runs at the SCG on Thursday, it marked his 19,000th run across Test, ODI and T20I cricket.
According to Virat Kohli’s overall stats, Kohli has 6590 test runs, 10,232 ODI runs and 2167 runs in T20I. He became the 12th batsman overall and 3rd Indian after Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to score 19,000 runs in international cricket. Virat Kohli also holds the record for quickest to reach 16000 runs, 17000 runs, 18000 runs, and 19,000 international runs.
Sachin Tendulkar (432), Brian Lara (433) and Ricky Ponting (444) were all much slower to reach 19,000 runs.
